Greats

I just got back from watching "Shark's Tale." It was a really fun movie. It made me think though of the many things that I have missed while I was working in the fast world. There are so many wonderful things around us that we need not ignore. We ought to slow down and explore. Yes, I sound like a cliche, so what --smelling the roses does not mean you ignore your responsibilities rather, it encourages you to appreciate everything despite the hardships. The hardships makes life interesting though at the moment you are experiencing it, it does not seem interesting but looking back, you know you have worked through it and you come out stronger than before. That episode in your life should allow you to appreciate even more the beauty around you, to expand your heart to love even more, and to realize that you are much stronger than you thought you could ever be.

This morning, I allowed myself to go bike riding with my friend Laura at the C&O Canal. Half of me felt really guilty for I should be looking for a job but the other half says that I should just be happy to have the opportunity. I went and had a wonderful time. The sun was shining brightly and the weather was beautiful. It started of a little chilly but as we continued through the path, it just became perfect. If it were any warmer, then we would have been sweating like crazy. We had great conversation topics through out our ride and I appreciated her company a lot. We saw Great Falls and its marvels and the astounding beauty of nature. Its capacity to mold the earth and the forces that we cannot control. It was spectacular. Yes, it may not have been Niagara Falls but still....you have to give a sense of awe with what's around you and all of which are God's gift to us. We saw some blue herring (which I think are majorly ugly). Some fishies that were jumping out of the water...or maybe not but there were making ripples probably trying to catch an insect. There was a rainbow at the falls too, I forgot to tell you that.

Its interesting to find so many things that I have overlooked focused only to a working goal. To earn money. Do not get me wrong, I still worry about that but I am fine for now. God will provide and the right opportunity will be there when I come knocking on the right door. You can't just wait on the "good thing" to happen, mind you but you have to be proactive about it as well. He can only provide if we come seeking it.

Anyway, I was intent in spreading my feel good mood that I went to Diamond Elementary to help out Mrs. Shea but I got a little lost (how typical) and got there a little too late for she was already in a meeting. Maybe tomorrow, I'll come by and see if I can help her then. At least now, I know where it is and I would not actually get lost anymore...oh and not go the wrong way on the road. My defense though..there was no "one way" sign anywhere at the road I turned to so there! I left a note for her and headed home. I called mom so I can cook and she can rest when she gets home. It's the least I can do since I'm not working. Then I went to guitar class where I made an ass of myself because I did not remember this one piece that we worked on before and had to scramble my brain to remember. How sad. Then I told Wes that its really frustrating to create my own stuff since I can't seem to put it down on paper. I just don't have the skill to do it as of yet and its driving me nuts. My fingers don't move the way I want it, the sound I want don't seem to come out right, and the words I feel does not seem to properly reflect it. One day, mark my words, ONE DAY, it will all come and I hope I'd be ready to show the world what I can do ... or those who would stop and listen anyway. Oh well....Now, that brings us back to the beginning.

Wonderful day isn't it? I think so too. The world is full of Greats! and all you need is to learn how to appreciate them.
