I just finished reading Al Franken's book titled Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tel Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right. I do recommend it. It's a great satirical view of the media, Bush (of course!), and other Republicans that are great to make fun of because goodness, the things that come out of their mouths...all lies and sadly though they think the American people would believe it. Although, we can't help having those who do believe in the Bushisms...eck! Good thing we have Al to set things right (and his Teamfranken --group of Harvard students who helped Al research his book).
As I was reading, I realized how many things I have taken for granted. Now that the election is nearing, we ought to be more vigilant about what lies the Republicans are spreading. But really, I'm not to impose my own views on others. In fact, my sister does not share the same views as I. We get along. We just decided not to talk politics really. No need to make waves. But vote. Please do vote! I would rather have people go out to the polls and express their rights, than have people complain and not have done their civic duty. That just irk me to the highest degree. If you didn't vote and have something to say, by golly! Shut up!
Anyway, I'm off to a dinner party ... with Filipino doctors who I would assume would mostly be Republicans having to earn loads of money, Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy would definitely benefit them. I won't hold it against them though, they're fun people. So, off to the festivities.
