Have you ever have people -- particularly family tell you, "soooo, when are you getting married?" You politely smile, rather, I politely smile and say, "I gotta find the right guy first." You see them smile or laugh a bit but you can see in their eyes that they are disappointed.
Yes, there are times when I want to say that I wish I have found the "one" but I'm happy. How many young women are there in our family who can say have traveled happily and slowly have been seeing the world. Not many, I have to say. My sister, sadly enough haven't even been to Europe and I have. I've been to Bahamas, to Thailand, to Puerto Rico, and to London. I'm planning many more travels and I have nothing to hold me back. I love meeting people. I love seeing and learning new things. I enjoy being able to know more about other cultures. If I were attached, and if it just so happens my significant other does not enjoy travels like me, then my urge to see things will be sadly put to an end. How disheartening. Hmmm, note to self, add "traveler" to the list of what I would like my future hubby to be into. =)
Anyway, I just find it odd that those who would want me to go see the world would want me to be married and tied down. What an oxymoron.
Well ... I just thought I'd write the oddness of things.
