I was told that I'm too friendly. Is there such a thing as being too friendly? That I warm up to people that I deemed worthy pretty quickly. (at least I discriminate, right?) Is that trait bad as well? Then they proceeded to say that its bad only because I am placed in the "friend zone."
Ah, the dreaded "friend zone." I've blogged about it awhile back but it is indeed a hole in which men and women alike do not want to find themselves in if they intend to pursue more than just a friendship with the other person.
I guess whomever would want something more than friendship with me would just have to get beyond the friendliness (which, I have to say I still think isn't bad) and get to know more about me. I'm more than just the smile and the politeness, the courteousness and graciousness. Beyond all that is on the surface, I have depth and intelligence, I have my own opinion and my own thoughts, I can perhaps be persuaded if given a good argument but not without a long discussion.
I am more than just the sum of the smile of the first meeting. You, whomever you are, see past that and get beyond the shield of niceness.
