'tis the day ... that hallmark made so all single men and women around the world would feel all the more single.
Is that good? I really don't know. Singleness in and of itself isn't bad. So why is it on this day, the 14th of February, I feel like singleness isn't that great? Did hallmark just create it to spite us non-attached individuals, or is it a reminder that people need other people?
It has also become the day where men struggle to buy the stupidest things in remembrance of their love for their significant other. Ah, yet another ploy by the almighty capitalist gods. Its quite cliche but what makes today so much more special than other days? Shouldn't men and women show their love for each other everyday and not just some random day designated by some random person?
Oh well. My date right now is quite great. No fuss. No muss. No complications. Except perhaps when he gets hungry and needs changing. My date, Marc is 5 months old. Ah, such a great date.
Despite my rant on heart day, I wish all a good Valentines day.
