Good Morning <insert name here> --
That's my usual opening on e-mail these days. Needing to be cordial so as not to strike a nerve before requesting some help or some information, or just plainly reminding people to give me the stuff I've been asking for. =) It has a good tone to it I think and hasn't back fired as of yet. *crossing fingers* I'm easing up on the e-mails though since it's an upcoming holiday. hahahaha...then the torrent of e-mails, phone calls, and personal visits would ensue once more. 'Tis what a job of a project manager. Well, the role I seem to have stepped up into to try and assist the other PMs.
Jobs have a funny bone to it if you let yourself ease up and just look. There's no reason why you shouldn't. People I think take jobs too seriously thus causing health problems and heads to explode. For me, its not worth it. I'd rather find the joy of things rather than dwell on those I have no control over or just the negatives in general. I like being the "glass half full" person. Though for some reason, I cannot have the same predilection to myself. Like for example. Last night, I had my guitar lesson. We actually went through some pieces I'm learning and the next half of the class, Wes was helping me with a song. There are some issues with it. But I knew that. I just didn't know how to fix it. Of course my self-deprecating self just thought of it as me sucking. See ... the "half empty" thoughts yet? Anyway, we're working on it still so we'll see where it goes.
I've rarely feel dizzy or nauseous. Today though was one of those rare moments. My fault totally for the compounding events but oh well...I lived to learn. Lets see if I can paint you a good picture. I had coffee today. Took my vitamins and allergy meds. Then, drank lots of water and ate 2 big pretzels. I proceeded to go donate blood. Where nearing the end, the pressure to push the blood out of the body and into the baggies began to dissipate to almost nothing. The nurses started to wiggle the needle and there it goes again. (see, I think they overshot again and its really not IN the vein --but that's just me. i have no scientific evidence nor do i have the expertise). Anyway, it took forever as compared to my swift blood letting sessions. Then, I had a bag of pretzels and a can of sprite. Didn't get the time to eat was reprimanded by Angela and Andrea so I went and ate 2 chocolate nuggets. When it was time for dance class, I got it in my head to get something to eat. I walked to the nearby Cosi and found nothing I can quickly scarf down lest for the cookie. And so, I bought one and a sprite and devoured that rather quickly (which was ultimately the clincher of the story). Can you see where this is going? As I started class and 10 minutes into jazz, what greeted me is this nauseating feeling and had to excuse myself to go to the bathroom. My body made me posture for hurling but nothing came out. Perhaps due to not having anything in my stomach? Yeah ... Then, I drank some cold water. That made me feel better actually and I continued and finished the class. I intended to go to guitar center to get my tuners changed but I never made it. I had to go home. I ate more substantial food and now I'm good to go.
Lesson: EAT SOMETHING!!!! It's good for you. Especially if you're going dancing and donating blood all at the same day.
Take care and Good night, <insert name here>
