Battles

It saddens me that everytime I read the newspaper or perhaps sit down and watch the news, all that I see are battles raging --everywhere it seems. From Haiti, to Iraq, to even suicide bombing in Mosques. I find it quite disturbing that even in the most sacred of places, battles are being fought.

Our very own political system does not get away unscathed either. The battle for presidency is beginning now that Kerry is the last democrat standing. Who would win? I would like to think the good guys would but that's a Hollywood storyline that never becomes reality. One thing for sure though, I hope our current president wisens up for he's making lots of enemies. Stick to problems of economic importance buddy. Don't mess with love. It's hard enough to find love these days. Granted, I myself would not marry a woman however, I applaud couples (of every combination) who find each other. Who am I to judge...and who is Bush to do the same? I would not and never would impose my beliefs on others. I love them regardless. Isn't that what faith dictates? LOVE THY NEIGHBOR! It has no caveats. No if/then rules. No addendums. It's just as it says: LOVE THY NEIGHBOR. Plain and simple. Hard to do and yet, there it is. Isn't there another part to that scripture? LOVE THY ENEMY? So, it broadens the statement. Love not only those people you are friends with, but those you do not get along with as well.

And so there it is folks. If only we could follow those two sentences, I think the battles we're seeing everywhere would seize. When this would happen, and If it could even happen, well. . . I don't know. I'd start with me and hopefully others with follow suit. LOVE EVERYONE!
