What's Funny

I just bought the Toby Lightman CD. It was wonderful. If you get a chance, go get it...it's worth the $12.99, I bought it through i-tunes so it was cheaper. Anyway, I was very very pleased with her album. What I thought was funny as I sat in my car, waiting 'til 5pm to go to my acupuncture session, is that the songs she was singing are the songs I've always wanted to write. Some of her themes are similar to those I've been experimenting on. I started laughing and said to myself, why is it that I always hear the songs I want to write? Alas! Foiled yet again! But I'm happy to hear it though. It gives me an indication that I'm headed toward the right direction.

It's funny to hear the songs from someone else's lips
The music of my heart embodied by someone else's art
I write all what's in me, The thought's that move me
And yet here I am hearing someone else sing it to me

The melody almost always escapes my grasp
That right tune, the catchy hook
It all floats around my head, with me unable to materialize it

Evolved somehow from those around
Eclectic --due to influences
From Jazz to rock to hip hop and pop

No more laughing when I hear a sound
