and so it flows

you know how i have been whining about not finding a tune for my words? well, today, i had a wonderful blessing. i went to the formation day at my church...by the way i wanted to skip. and during the break, there was just this sudden inspiration. the speaker was great. She's a prof of theology at georgetown. anyway, something must have clicked when she was talking...or my muse suddenly decided to pay me a visit. or God decided it was time. whatever it is, i found my melody. it just came rushing in. while everyone was rushing to the foyer, i did not leave my seat until i wrote down the words and when i finished, i ran to my car like a mad woman and thank God for my sister's gift of a tape recorder and i recorded the song. whee hooo! so now, i just need to write the music to go with it and i'm good to go...well, it needs some tweaking but that comes later. but i'm just soooo haappy. i thank God of course right away. Hallelujah!

maybe it was right
and maybe it was just ok
moments that arrive
moments that we come to share today

all the while
i smile
i look up in the sky
and i find some ways to survive my days

i sit and stare
look about my world today
i see the many faces
and all the various traces of life's different winding places

all the while
i smile
i look up in the sky
and i find some ways to survive my days

i count it out
as i walk passed
the different markers
of roads i travel by
and see all the possibilities

all the while
i smile
i look up in the sky
and find some ways to survive my days

and one and two and three
the momentous occasions i see
four and five and six
i see the sadness, happiness --a mix

but all the while
i smile
i look up in the sky
and find some ways to survive my days
and enjoy the travel cuz i know i'll be here for awhile
