One moment, One time
One opportunity gone by
One love in a lifetime
that's all everybody seems to say
One chance, One way
One passing moment of the day
One turn of the tides
that's all you get they say
My tongue rolls in protest
My heart leaps to say no
My own gut say to the contrary
But I have nothing to show
My own thoughts whirl in motion
There's no single pattern to fit
No rules, no rhyme
No way your solution fits mine
I try to go against the grain
The tide making it all a strain
My energy wearing down
Should I embrace the cure-all?
Risk my identity and blend in?
Should I, should I, should I
I can't say I'll win
One thing that fits everything
It can't be, why should it?
There's difference between you and me
One - nothing, I beg to differ
But I have no proof to offer
All I have is a feeling, a gut wrenching feeling
Maybe someday I can say
I'm right and here's why
For now, I'll swim with the tides
Joining the chorus and say,
There's one and only one way
