everytime i step into the metro i come into a world that, for me anyway, just stops. it has its own rhythm different from the outside. you move through it quite slowly even though you're speeding by reality. you hop in, and you go to a pre-determined destination. pretty convenient. however, you can always change your mind and hop on or off, at any location despite the predisposed location determined sometime earlier. I like that free will part of the metro. then, it announces to you, "doors open." it's an invitation to a world beyond expectations. it's sometimes tempting to just hop off when you know you are expected somewhere else, just to see where that door leads to. some unknown adventure. sometimes, even stops that you've been before are different somehow. first of all, it's never the same people in the station. other times, decorations have been put up or new billboards are on display. like i said, good times. new adventure. new surroundings. you take it in in two or three breaths and you walk on. whether it be the determined stop, or a whimsical one, there's always surprises. i like surprises....most of the time anyway. so try to step into a new world once in a while...."doors open." as it always will.
you and i we made promises
guidelines to abide to
you and i we thought we were meant to be
we followed our rules and this is where it lead us to see
we stumbled and fallen
a trap door coming out of nowhere
we cornered ourselves into broken glass
and we wounded each other then
we made these rules so we can be together
we made promises then broke them later
the past cannot be undone
but it can be improved upon
will there be a future for us
maybe it's not worth the fuss
we started out so strong
and now we seem to not belong
the love that was is no longer burning
that tingly feeling when we first met is gone
and so are the smiles we give
and the warm feeling when our love was strong
did it all end because. . .
we made rules so we can be together
we made promises then broke them later
but the past cannot be undone
but at least it can be improved upon
